NEW ARTHRITIS INFO
ARTHRITIS
Arthritis or(A)is a very painful and debilitating disease. There’s a feeling of empathy, I have for not only clients but people in general who come down with this disease. The discomfort and quality of diminished life these individuals endure motivates me to find solutions to this problem. I uncover methods that will possibly relieve symptoms associated with this painful disease. This section goes over the definition, causes, risk factors and also a few symptoms associated with this disease.
What is Arthritis?
It is estimated that 40 million Americans and 80% of persons older than 75 years are affected by this disease. Although symptoms of this disease occur earlier in women, the prevalence among men and women are generally the same. Furthermore, the diagnosis of this disease is largely clinical because x-ray findings don’t always agree with symptoms.
*The exact cause of this disease isn't fully understood*
What Are Some Of The Causes?
· Multiple factors such as heredity, trauma, diet, and obesity interact to cause this disorder.
· Any event that changes the environment of the chondrocyte ( the cells involved in making cartilage ) has the potential to cause osteoarthritis and the cause of this disease, involves a combination of mechanical, cellular, and biochemical processes. The interaction of these processes leads to changes in the composition and mechanical properties of the articular cartilage. Cartilage is composed of water, collagen and proteoglycans. The lack of cartilage in the knee joint is a contributing factor to someone developing an arthritic knee.
· In healthy cartilage, a continual internal remodeling occurs as the chondrocytes replace tiny molecules lost through degradation. This process becomes disrupted leading to increased degenerative changes and abnormal repair responses.
What Are Common Risk Factors?
· Age older than 50
· Obesity (weight-bearing joints ) for overweight people
· Hobbled by arthritis in knee, losing one pound can diminish the stress the knees take with every step
· History of immobilization
· Injury to the joint
· Joint hyper mobility or instability
· Prolonged occupational or sports stress
· Diet- the types of fat and foods we consume may have an influence
What Are Some Of The Symptoms?
· Aching pain, stiffness, or difficulty moving the joint. In all these cases the pain gets worse with overuse and may occur in the evening. In the later stages of osteoarthritis, the pain can occur at rest.
· (A) of fingers: Bone enlargements in the fingertips ( first joint ) are common. These are called Heberden nodes. They usually aren’t painful.
· In Hip (A): The hips are major weight bearing joints. Involvement of the hips maybe seen more in men. For example, farmers’ construction workers, and firefighters have been found to have an increased incidence of hip osteoarthritis.
· Heavy physical workload contributes to osteoarthritis of the hip and arthritis in knee. Repetitive squatting and kneeling may promote knee arthritis.
· Spinal (A): This can cause bone spurs or osteophytes, which can pinch nerves and cause pain and potentially weakness in the arms or legs.
Rheumatoid (A) Defined
Rheumatoid (A) is an autoimmune disorder in which the immune system mistakenly attacks the lining of the joints, leading to inflammation, pain and stiffness. An all natural possible pain reducer for rheumatoid arthritis maybe pomegranate fruit extracts, which can block enzymes that contribute to (A). Individuals with (A) in knee can have better mobility after consuming pomegranite fruit extracts. An easy to follow informative procedure for alleviating the discomfort of arthritis will be discussed later in this section.
Case Studies
A friend of mine who’s in his early sixties could barely extend his fingers out in the early mornings. We love to joke around about life in general, but the way he described his (A)got me thinking seriously again. There’s pure empathy in my heart for (A) sufferers. Luckily he’s in a great position to acquire knowledge from me on how to live a better quality of life free from (A). A young lady who is a close friend of mine also suffers from (A) in her fingers. I never even knew about her problem. One day the subject of (A) was brought up and then she told me. I will discuss how well she’s doing now from (A), and the effects of nutritional supplements on osteoarthritis will be discussed later on in this segment. In another case study, a lady named Donna was looking forward to spending her retirement with her husband. Unfortunately, her husband passed away before they could enjoy their retirement. I was shocked to find out from her that she was in her late 50’s, since she looked more like her mid 70’s. This was due to all her pain and struggling from (A). Donna mentioned how she had little reason to go on living without her husband and due to the unrelenting, constant pain of arthritis. Anyways several natural methods were implemented for her arthritis. Within a few months, she looked younger and much more agile as the (A) started to disappear. The conventional management in dealing with(A)primarily focuses on the relief of symptoms using agents such as:
· Analgesics
· Non Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs ( NSAIDS )
· Painful Joints
· Shooting Streaks Of Discomfort
· Trouble Moving And Extending The Troubled Joint
NSAIDS will be discussed later in the upcoming pages and ways to relieve the symptoms associated with arthritis.
